women of colour in design

For my degree show, I combined the research from my dissertation with my project about decolonising the institution. I created a piece that celebrated women of colour within the design industry. This was hung in the window of the exhibition to increase the visibility of underrepresented designers, housed within a vibrant and celebratory visual language.

Alongside this, I set up a Twitter account and invited the audience to contribute to an archive of People of Colour Designers (twitter.com/AnoushkaKh). This account was connected to a thermal printer, which printed out the names as they were tweeted, creating a physical archive which mirrored the digital one.
